Introduction
Planet Solar (NI) brings the best available solar PV products to Northern Ireland, in partnership with the most experienced design and installation teams. We know there is a bewildering choice of panels and installers available today, and we believe you have the right to expect the very best of everything at a realistic price. From the panels we supply to the very last cable our experienced teams install, we focus on the highest available quality.
Planet Solar (NI) Ltd is MCS accredited to design and install solar PV (NIC3940) and a member of REAL.
To capture the full range of benefits going solar provides, your solar PV system needs to be designed and installed to last for decades. Our Head Of Installations has been installing solar PV in N. Ireland since 2002. We don’t know of anyone with more time served. After your solar PV system has been installed, tested and commissioned, our Head Of Installations will personally inspect and sign-off before we hand over to you.
We are obsessed with customer service. From your initial contact with us and throughout the project lifecycle, we aim to provide a safe and reassuring pair of hands. We believe that by delivering an exceptional customer experience you will be happy to recommend us to your friends and family, and let other people know that we have delivered on our promises. The best way to fully trust what we say is to ask an existing customer before you buy, and this is what we recommend you do. It is our customers who determine how good our service levels really are.

Meet Our Team (1)
Andy Baird
Managing Director
Andy has worked in the clean energy sector for over a decade. During 2002-05 he was making energy from waste using high-rate anaerobic reactors in the brewing, distilling and meat processing industries. It was noisy and dirty, but very rewarding.
And then he discovered solar... Jeremy Leggett’s Half Gone had just been published so he contacted Solarcentury in London and plans were made to open a satellite office N. Ireland. There were no FiTs, capital grants were over-subscribed and the cost per kWp of solar PV was £6,000 - £8,000 installed. The case for going solar was strong, but project economics were a difficult case to make.
Despite the obvious challenges, schools, colleges, housing associations and house-builders started installing solar, and word spread! By 2007, the satellite office was also serving Scotland and the north of England. In the years that followed, Andy deployed solar across thousands of private, social and affordable housing units & hundreds of commercial-scale installations in the 20-250kWp range.
It is this unique range of experience that led Andy to start Planet Solar (NI) Ltd. “We know there is a bewildering choice of panels and installers available today, and we believe consumers have the right to expect the very best of everything at a realistic price," he says. "From the panels we supply to the very last cable our experienced teams install, we focus on the highest available quality.â€
