Personal Potential Counselling offers a comprehensive counselling and psychotherapy service backed up by over 25 years of experience.
Dr Carl Stonier, the owner, has trained in all the major approaches to counselling and therapy and is recognised as an Advanced Practitioner of Emotional Freedom Technique, which is amazingly effective in dealing with phobias, anxieties and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Carl has experience in working successfully with veterans of the Gulf War and the Falklands war on issues of PTSD, and also in dealing very successfully with survivors of all sorts of childhood abuse, which often leads to complex PTSD and Dissociative Identity Disorder, which used to be called Multiple Personality Disorder.
Carl's PhD is for research into the link between emotional health and physical health, specifically in the case of heart disease, but he has also spent much time working with people with cancer and leads a national cancer self help charity.
