What is Microsoft Office Setup?
Microsoft office setup is the software setup file with this setup file you can install on your computer and some of the supported device to use Microsoft office. Not only the Microsoft Office software but all the software always has the setup file, and it is very important, without the setup file the software turn useless. Sign in to your Office account at Office.com/setup
You will be asked to enter the product key
Provide that key and hit Enter
However, if you are a new user, then click Create an Account to create a new account
Enter the required details to sign up
Now, from the list of Office subscriptions, select your subscription
Click Download and wait until the process finishes
Offline
Insert the Office CD in the CD/DVD drive of your system
Follow the on-screen instructions to download the product
In the former case, you will get an Office product key that will be asked at the time of activation, on your registered email Id. For Offline purchase, you will get the product key along with the CD. Keep this key secure with you!
How to proceed with Microsoft Office Setup online:
1. First of all sign in to your office account at www.office.com/setup Now redeem your product key. If you don’t have a account yet then create a new one and use the same Microsoft login credential to sign to your My Office account.
2. Once you have successfully completed with the step one. then Select Install of your product, select Install again. By default, this installs the 32-bit version of Office on your PC using the language you selected when you redeemed the product. But If you want to install the 64-bit version, change your language.
3. Once you will click on install internet explorer will show you a popup with the option “Runâ€. And in Google chrome and Mozilla Firefox you will get the option to save the file. As soon as the file downloaded you need to open it manually and run the installation.
4. Also you will be informed when installation done like, “You’re all set! Office is installed now†and then the animated video will show you how to find office applications on your computer. Follow the instructions in the window, for example Click Start > All Apps to see where your apps are, and select Close. NOTE: While installing your Microsoft Office365 may be you can see the message like, Stop, you should wait to install Office 2016. That means the installation process has found compatibility issue with something else installed on your PC. Installing Office Setup
For Windows
Double-click the downloaded Office setup available in the Downloads folder
Click Yes on the prompted window
Wait until the installation finishes
Click Close to close the window
For Mac
Once the Office setup downloads to your device, open the blue face shaped-app, Finder from your Mac's Dock
Double-click the Office setup to begin the installation
Click Continue twice
Click Agree followed by Continue
Now, click Install and provide your Mac password
Click Close to close the window
Activating Office Setup
Open any of the Office application and you will see an Office Activation Wizard
Enter the Office Setup product key
Follow the further instructions to activate the Office product
Uninstalling Office Setup
Uninstallation of Office setup depends completely on the type of installation. In case, someone else has installed the Office setup, then you have to follow these steps to know the type of installation. There are two types of installation that are used by the users:
MSI: Microsoft Windows Installer is an old method of installing Office setup through a local installation resource
Click-to-Run: It is the latest method of installing and updating Office over the internet. By default the latest version of Office along with most of the one-time purchase of Office products installed by this method only.
To find out the installation type, do the following:
Open the Office application
Open File -> Account or Office Account
If there is "Update Options" available, it means you have installed the setup using Click-to-Run installation
If the option is not available, then go for MSI type installation
In case of click-to-run, before you remove or uninstall the Office setup, log in your Windows account with your administrator account. Then follow these steps:
Remove the Windows Installer packages
Remove the Office scheduled tasks
Use Task Manager to end Click-to-Run tasks
Delete the Office services
Now, remove the Office files
Remove Office Registry subkeys
Now, remove Start menu shortcuts
Uninstall the Office Click-To-Run Licensing Component, Extensibility Component and Localization Component
In case of MSI type installation, unhide all the hidden folders and files before moving towards the uninstallation of Office setup. Then follow these steps:
Remove any remaining Windows Installer packages of Office
Halt the Office Source Engine Service
Delete Office installation folders and files
Now, remove the registry subkeys for the Office system
