Nomade Life

Great experience with Nomade Life. Our driver and guide looked after us very well and we felt very safe throughout the whole tour. We were picked up from our riad in Marrakesh and then made our to Zagora via the Atlas Mountains, Ouarzazate and Agdz which helped to break up the long drive. Upon reaching Zagora, we transferred to camels(!) and rode into our desert camp as the sun was setting.

Everyone woke up extra early the next morning to catch the desert sunrise which was pretty special. After breakfast, it was back to Marrakesh via Ait Ben Haddou where we visited the famous Ksar where some of the scenes from Gladiator were shot. Overall we had a great time and were glad to spend some time away from the hustle of Marrakech, Some of the scenery along the way was quite something to behold. Fully recommend this tour and this company as well. If we had more time, we might have gone for a longer tour and visited more places.

We had a fantastic week in Morocco! The tour we went on with Nomade Life was exactly what we wanted. Everything was handled extremely professionally - always felt really safe. They provided a great balance between a planned itinerary and flexibility to allow us to do extra things that we were interested in. 4x4 was big and comfortable.

Accommodation and food was to a very good standard. 'abdul our driver was fantastic, great sense of humour and really made our trip for us. He gave us loads of advice about what to do in the places we were left to explore and always looked out for us - learnt a bit of Arabic on the way too! The highlight most definitely was spending the night in the desert and riding a camel.

Definitely recommend this company and would happily use again. Really felt like we got a superb Moroccan experience in our week there.

We knew we were in good hands from the moment we booked our tour with Felicity. She listened to us as we wanted to extend our time in the Atlas Mountains and desert and less time in an airconditioned 4wd. We got the perfect tour. If you like a bit of adventure this company can arrange something different. We loved every minute of it from the trek up and down the mountain (our guide was truly fantastic) - the home stays with both the Berber nomad family and the Berber family to the desert stay in very comfortable tents and full day camel trek. We did have to commute via an airconditioned 4wd for some of the trip and our driver, abdul was excellent. The accommodation was well planned, ending with the luxury riad at the end. My title describes how easy Nomade Life made it possible for my family to travel with a two (2) year old to the Sahara. I traveled with my husband, daughter and in-laws with our amazingly patient and thoughtful guide, Abdul, on a three (3) day tour to Erg chebbi.
Concerns I had prior to booking this trip included the comfort of the transportation and accommodations. To say the least all expectations were surpassed. We had the vehicle to ourselves (family), it was spacious enough to accommodate us all and my daughter surprisingly, never got antsy.
We later met up with Bachir's brother (Nomade Life is family owned!..love that) and his group of travelers which followed us in and out of the desert. It was a small group which made it intimate at camp and easy on the camel ride.
If you think it sounds crazy to travel oversees with a 2-year old, and even more so to the Sahara...rest assure it can be done, and you may be pleasantly surprised at how much they'll enjoy it. I'd also like to give credit to the guides of Nomade Life for babysitting at times and being so patient...that is with my in-laws..not my 2-year old!

We went with Nomade Life on a day trip to the Atlas Mountains. It was the highlight of our stay in Marakech and made us wish that we'd stayed much longer to be able to go on a longer trip to the Sahara.

The trip itself was beautiful, but the best part was our guide Bachir who was funny, engaging, and very knowledgeable. He also enjoys whatever music you chose to bring with you in the car, and counters with a bit of local flavour as well.
