Introduction
Dr. Joseph Lawless began his optometric career in New Baltimore in 1981, acquiring the long- established practice of Bruno Wisney, O.D. In 1987 the practice was relocated from downtown New Baltimore to its current location in the Spectrum Professional Building. Our practice focus is on complete family eye care, including premium quality frames and lenses, as well as specialty contact lens fittings, and laser vision co-management. Dr. Lawless also has a special place in his heart for kids, especially those with vision related learning problems.
Joseph J. Lawless O.D. graduated with honors in 1980 from Ferris State College of
Optometry. He did his undergraduate studies at Central Michigan University where he was a biology major and a psychology minor. Since graduation, Dr. Lawless has completed extensive post- graduate training in the fields of visual processing and vision therapy.
Dr. Joseph Lawless began his optometric career in New Baltimore in 1981, where the focus of his practice is on complete family eye care, including premium quality frames and lenses, specialty contact lens fittings, vision therapy, and laser vision co-management. As the father of two children, children’s vision problems are a very important part of his clinical optometric practice. Dr. Lawless has been the director of the V.I.P. in New Baltimore since 1993.

Mission Statement:
The purpose of this practice is to provide the highest possible quality and extent of Optometric services to every patient. It is equally important that each patient perceive that they are being provided with the best quality of care. To achieve this goal, there are 4 basic criteria that Dr. Lawless and each staff member must constantly strive for:
1) GENUINE CONCERN and care for each patient as a person.
2) EXCELLENCE in clinical/technical skills.
3) FULL SERVICE to each and every patient.
4) EDUCATE our patients and our community on the importance of proper eyecare.

We accept Vision Service Plan (VSP), Medicare and many other vision care programs.
