Introduction
The most crucial aspect of any restaurant is inevitably the people behind the scene. That's why at Namada, a lot of emphasis is laid on the human element of the organisation, thus ensuring each person comprehends that Namada is not merely about the great tasting food but moreover it's opulent tradition and history, all set in an aesthetically pleasing environment which infuses London with an exciting taste of the East.
Saif Alom, the founder of Namada along with his brother Munjir Alom and with the support of their father, who has a rich knowledge of real authentic cuisine, have created this work of genuine "Indian culinary art" called Namada! Their previous successful family restaurants include Borough Market Silka Restaurant, Indian Moment Northcote Road and Indian Room on Bedford Hill.
Saif's goal was to achieve the "real" taste of authentic Indian food. He noticed the thoroughly Anglicized Indian food in the UK, claiming to be "the real McCoy", which coerced Saif to embark on culinary journeys to India to further his understanding of what truthfully defines a perfect curry. This allowed him to select a chef who suited his acquired culinary vision and philosophy, to provide customers at Namada a taste of what truly composes an authentic curry with a contemporary twist.
