Introduction
Yoga is a wonderful form of exercise for pregnancy, and at NCT Relax, Stretch and Breathe sessions we practice yoga-based exercise, relaxation, and breathing for labour and birth. A small friendly group, where you can explore information about birth and share your experiences. Suitable from 12 weeks of pregnancy, and ideal for first-time mothers as well as those who already have children. Popular with mothers who have had a previous difficult birth, as a place to regain confidence.
The teacher is an NCT Excellent Practitioner, who has been practicing yoga since 2001 including through two pregnancies.
Previous clients have said:
'It made me very positive about going for a VBAC, I was originally very scared but felt quite confident after attending course a few times.â?
'Most useful were the positions and movements to ease common pregnancy complaints such as sciatic painâ?
'It was lovely to have other pregnant mums to be with and express worries etc. You didn't feel so alone and silly if you had a problem. By talking to others you were able to overcome fears and could be more relaxed with the ongoing pregnancy. The actual yoga helped me relax and learn to breathe better and be aware of my surroundings. The technical information was very good too.â?
'I thoroughly enjoyed it. Kathryn really encouraged us to think for ourselves ' I felt much more empowered and wished I'd been referred to the class earlier.â?
'I still used my breathing exercises to keep me calm and relaxed very helpful when your awake for the op and it really helped me not to worry and made what could be horrible and stressful a really positive experience still for me.â?
Sessions run on Thursday mornings at Cosham Community Centre (you are entitled to time off work for antenatal education). Contact me for a registration form and details of both costs and the concessions available.
