Introduction
Founders Jack and Claudine Halpern have created a unique organization that supports the elderly and their families. Claudine has always considered Jack to be a bulldog when it comes to protecting the rights of seniors and she should know—as she has been married to him for 44 years.
But it wasn’t always easy. At the age of 23, Jack received an opportunity to work as an executive housekeeper at a nursing home. The couple were just recently married and expecting their first child. His innate ability to listen to the residents, quickly propelled him to the executive position and it was then that he started dreaming about creating a business that would advocate for elders.
Though Jack was a nursing home administrator for many years, he finally left the nursing home environment and started that company that he had dreamed of so many years ago. My Elder Advocate was born and was the only service of its kind in the United States.
By 2030, America’s senior population is expected to nearly double. Nearly 60 percent of elder’s caregivers are employed and need to outsource caregiving duties to non-family members.
