Introduction
On an early spring morning in 1995, that question was answered when The Monument Cafe opened its doors for the first time in Georgetown, Texas, and Rusty Winkstern began cooking for a few eager guests ready to sample the town's newest eating place.
It was like the whole town suddenly showed up. Folks just couldn't get enough. And its been that way pretty much ever since.
Each morning the doors open to the early birds ready for coffee, sour cream coffee cake, or huevos rancheros made with fresh, free-range eggs. By each end of the day, we've served hundreds of meals. Each one we hope as perfect as the last.
We hope to see you soon.
Our vegetables are mostly organic, our meats are All Natural, our beef is Kobe, and our juices are freshly squeezed right here everyday. Even our fries and onion rings are cut and breaded in-house. And then there are our eggs: the freshest All Natural free- range product available - the yellowest yolks.
We have catered every kind of event you can imagine from box lunches for 20 to elegant wedding parties. We've catered ice cream socials, cocktail parties, and garden club luncheons. We've even catered political fund raisers, wakes and funerals, and elaborate Christmas parties. If you have any event in need of catering, keep us in mind.
The new Monument Market is now open at 500 S. Austin Avenue from 10:00 am ' 8:00 pm daily. Featuring locally-sourced, organic produce, meats and dairy products. More locally-sourced food products are on their way daily.
