Introduction
Her Majesty’s Royal Chapel of the Mohawks was the first Protestant Church in Upper Canada, and is now the oldest surviving church in Ontario. Run by Six Nations Tourism, a sub-department of Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC), Mohawk Chapel is a vibrant tourism destination in Brantford aimed at providing a cultural experience for all its visitors.
Mohawk Chapel offers Curriculum based education programs to groups, schools, and visiting organizations. The Workshops are designed to work with the teachers to enhance the First Nations, Metis, and Inuit Education Policy Framework programming which reflect the goals of the Ontario Curriculum. Through hands on, interactive lessons, targeting various learning styles, students will explore the history of Six Nations of the Grand River territory.
