With a background in editing, Alys brings her attention to detail to her role as recruitment consultant on the PR desk, ensuring that candidates and roles are specifically matched. Her customer service experience helps her build lasting relationships with everyone she deals with.
Outside of work, you’ll mostly find her attempting fiendish pub quizzes or watching her beloved Arsenal with a mixture of admiration and consternation.

Ben joined us after graduating from Chelsea College of Art, where he studied Fine Art. He is currently working with us, resourcing for marketing and publishing roles.
In his spare time, he runs an independent record label, enjoys reading, and also exhibits and performs in and beyond London.

Charan Rai
Recruitment Consultant
Charan graduated in geology in Leicester and then found her way back to London to start her career in 2016. Being naturally gregarious and chatty, recruitment was the obvious career choice and she worked for a couple of agencies before finding her niche and joining the PR & communications desk at Media Contacts. She also loves dogs, socialising and exercise – although her exercise routine these days involves more lifting of cutlery and glasses than the sort of weights she might find in the gym!

25 years managing and directing recruitment companies. Now directing Media Contacts in its nineteenth year of trading. Does New Business, in-house training and strategy. Probably the only media recruiter with a music degree and a single figure golf handicap.
John Bowen
Recruitment Consultant
John is an experienced practitioner in Public Affairs and Corporate PR, with a reputation for tenacity, creativity and affability. He led one of Weber Shandwick’ s most award-winning campaigns of all time, the ‘ We Believe in D&T’ programme for The Design and Technology Association which won a coveted Gold Lion at the Cannes Festival of Creativity. He was subsequently shortlisted in 2013 by Public Affairs News for “Public Affairs Consultant of the Yearâ€.
When not looking after his four Jack Russell terriers, John keeps himself busy by getting involved in local politics, reading, and trips to the pub!

After leaving University with a degree in Culture, Media and Society, Jonathan moved into the Education sector spending time working as an English teacher in South Korea and Spain. Jonathan recruits widely for the Events industry. He spends his free time playing and watching sports – hoping that Newcastle United’s fortunes will improve – and travels as much as possible.
Julia Walton
Managing Consultant
After a varied career involving fmcg executive search, IT contract recruitment and several years as a journalist, Julia went around the world for more than a year, chasing kangaroos and editing news for a Thai newspaper, and has come back to combine her previous lives into recruiting healthcare communications staff. Outside work, if she’s not in the gym or in the pub, she’s likely to be cooking or have her head in a book.

Naomi Lane

Before embarking on her recruitment career, Naomi spent 2 years with EMAP at KISS FM working in KISSTORY ‘s marketing function (and whilst she still has a very questionable taste in music and isn’t allowed anywhere near the office playlist, she is an unashamed, self-confessed events and media nerd).
Naomi has worked in both in-house and agency roles at a senior level for multi-site businesses where she’s lead teams to deliver recruitment projects from headhunting board level talent to delivering on high volume national contracts. Now, Naomi is responsible for all of our Events Marketing recruitment, from entry level to board level roles across business and consumer shows.

After graduating with a first class marketing degree, Rayhana re-joined Media Contacts where she also completed an industrial placement. Rayhana brings a combination of previous experience and educational knowledge. In line with sharing of office management functions, she also specialises in marketing – particularly SEO and social media marketing. Her projects vary from working on a new website to developing new advertising strategies. Outside work, she loves Zumba & yoga, shopping, eating out and researching ancient lifestyle – and anything that sounds interesting!

With almost fifteen years’ experience at the company, Rupert is Director at Media Contacts, managing the team as well as being a hands-on recruiter. Rupert went from gardening to recruitment consultancy, being one of a rare breed of Londoners to be accredited by the Royal Horticultural Society. He has previously served as Chair of the Marketing, Media and Creative sector group of the REC, the industry’s leading trade association.
