Introduction
Morning Sun Nature Reserve is situated in the Soutpansberg Mountains in the Northern part of the Limpopo Province. You can expect an experience with a combination of eco, nature and culture whilst staying at Mashovhela Bush Lodge on the Morning Sun Nature Reserve.
In addition to scenic mountain trips in our 4 x 4 safari vehicles we offer a variety of guided or unguided walking trails; one of which takes you to our private big waterfall passing the sacred Mashovhela Rock Pool. This Natural Heritage Site has a unique botanical, birding and butterfly biodiversity. Guided birding walks and stargazing experiences are on offer and can be booked in advance. Mashovhela Bush Lodge with its 10 en-suite Venda style chalets and 3 annex safari tents with its beautiful mountain and valley views is an ECO Lodge with an unique atmosphere. The lodge caters for individuals, families and groups. The entrance to the lodge is next to the N1, only 20 km north of Louis-Trichardt (Makhadu) making it a perfect stop over en-route to the Northern Kruger Park, Mapungubwe World Heritage Site, Tshipise Hot water springs, Zimbabwe and Botswana. The lodge has received numerous awards including the Hidden Treasure accreditation for our service and conservation efforts.
The Drumbeat Restaurant offers tasty pan-African cuisine with plated or buffet meals and an A la carte lunch menu. During dinner our Traditional Venda singing and dancing group will entertain you.

Morning Sun Nature Reserve also offers Overland camping sites and an experience for adventurous couples to sleep in our Unimog Truck on the Mountain.
