Introduction
Loughborough CryoSpa is a sports recovery facility offering low temperature hydrotherapy on a pay-as-you-go basis, at just £10 for a six-minute individual session. Our temperature-controlled CET CryoSpas ice bath provides an optimum therapeutic effect post-exercise using a deep penetrating cold which works to eliminate fatigue and maximise recovery.
Our ice bath offers the optimum combination of turbulence, thermostatically-controlled temperature, salinity and pressure. The aeration of the water has a two-fold effect. When the body loses heat through convection as well as conduction the temperature drop will be much greater and be achieved much faster. The massage effect influences dispersal of fluids and can also stimulate the muscle which is particularly beneficial for certain conditions such as quadriceps contusion.
Cold water hydrotherapy is used by many elite athletes and professional sports people as well as members of the public who regularly take part in sporting activities such as running, cycling, football, rugby, boxing and mixed martial arts, to name but a few. Loughborough CryoSpa is unique in that it is not sited within a club and is therefore accessible to all.
