Introduction
On the confluence of the Nam Khan and the mighty Mekong, sits a UNESCO world heritage town which people have just started to hear about. After years of uncertainty and wars, Laos finally opened its doors to tourism in 2002. Luang Prabang with its Colonial French Architecture and a very scenic location became the star of Laos. The main town center is a protected area and remains the same since the time of its opening and hopefully will stay the same for years to come. Over the years many foreigners came, fell in love and made Luang Prabang their home. The many cafes, hotels have a European touch, but the treatment is with the Lao warmth.
