Lose fat and excess water
Maintain or increase muscle mass
Educate patients on diet, exercise and lifestyle behaviors
It can be achieved by eating a diet that is low in sugar, starch and salt - as well as saturated and trans fats. What is prescribed is an all you can eat diet without the need to count calories. It is NOT HOW MUCH one eats, but WHAT they eat, that causes weight gain.
