Katya is a classical and jazz harpist based in London. She is one of the few harpists in the UK who plays both a full-size concert harp, and a small strap-on electric harp. Endlessly elegant, romantic and stylish, the harp is perfect for weddings, parties and events. Katya has performed internationally and at many prestigious venues in the UK including St John's Smith Square, the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican Centre (and the Barbican Art Gallery where she played as part of an installation for their Seduced exhibition in 2008), and the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. Katya has performed at the House of Lords, in the company of Prince Charles at St. James' Palace and for HRH the Duke of Edinburgh at the Senate House in Cambridge, and for HRH Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle. She performed at George Best's Memorial Service at Manchester Cathedral, and for George Martin's Birthday Celebration at GSMD.

Katya has enjoyed much collaboration with various solo instrumentalists, chamber groups, orchestras, and singers. Since 2008, Katya has been performing regularly with Classical and Jazz singer, Phoebe Haines. Katya & Phoebe have performed at over two hundred events, including twenty-five May Balls, in the space of three years. They have performed at The House of Lords; in the Bloomsbury Ballrooms; and for the launch of Vivienne Westwood's Manifesto.

She also plays in a Cello and Harp Duo with her sister, Rebecca Herman, a fellow at the Royal Academy of Music:

Katya is a member of The Staircase Band, providers of whirling gypsy hurly-burly, Balkan beats and Klezmer, and of the Emily Dankworth Quintet, a jazz group with a twist.
