Introduction
Workshops in French for primary-aged children
I speak French throughout the visit to your school until the very end of the workshop. The sessions comprise two stories that the children know very well in English, so that they can make the connection with the French. I start with football chants as warm-ups (in French) and invite children up to take part in the storytelling giving them props. I also ask a member of staff to play one of the characters. The storytelling is very interactive; all the children join in with sounds effects and songs.
After the storytelling has finished, I thank everyone in French, and then in English, followed by a Question and Answer session, and finally a little quiz to see how much they've understood.
The workshop lasts between 50 to 60 minutes, for up to 60 children.
I can offer tailored workshops on a theme of your school's choice and also INSET.
