Kathy Dority
Managing Director
​Hither & Thither Adventures is based in New York and is the brain child of Kathy Dority who participated in a semester long study abroad program in London during the 1990s. While studying in London, she was able to travel to several countries in Europe including France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Holland. She still remembers taking the Eurail train from country to country, fantasizing of living and working abroad; camping with her then boyfriend in Dieppe, France; staying at a youth hostel while in Amsterdam; and drinking coca-colas at room temperature throughout Europe. Kathy's passion is traveling internationally to experience life as if she were a local. She has participated in a volunteer restoration program in the south of France on three separate occasions. She rented a Tuscan villa near the mountains and discovered the treasures of Florence and the picturesque areas nearby. Kathy has traveled extensively throughout Italy where she navigates the terrain effortlessly and immerses herself with the locals for a more authentic travel experience. Kathy has visited over two dozen cities in Italy - Lake Como, Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio, Milan, Venice, Florence, Scarperia, Monsummano Terme, Rome, Umbria, Assisi, Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Sestri Levante, Cinque Terre, Siena, Pisa, Todi, and the Amalfi coastal towns of Meta, Sorrento, Naples, Positano, Ravello, Capri, Anacapri and Ischia. Kathy also enjoys yoga and after several requests from clients, we have decided to have an amazing yoga instructor from NYC join us in the spring for a yoga retreat in Tuscany!
