Dougherty et al. (In The role of chiropractic care in older adults from the US National Library of Medicine) have reported on the safety of Spinal Manipulation Therapy in the older adult population.

The data showed adverse event (AE) data lower than previously reported in the literature, with only 35% of the patients experiencing any type of AE. This was a rate lower than that of the general population, regardless of age!
