In the heart of South Croydon on Brighton Road is a gem of a restaurant called Gurkha Spice, serving our respected and valuable customers since 1984. Here you can sample a range of authentic, fragrant and delicious Nepalese/Indian cuisine.
Nepal, the home of legendary Gurkha soldiers, surrounded by the world famous snow clad mountainous range of Himalaya, which include the world's highest mountain, Mt. Everest (8848m) where the most valuable, fragrant, delicious and healthy spices are grown. These brave Gurkhas hail from this agriculturally and traditionally rich part of the world, has it's own way of leading life, culture, tradition and custom. These Gurkha's are the most highly praised soldiers and are famous for their bravery and courage world wide especially in British Army.
The chefs at Gurkha Spice Restaurant come from the same Gurkha communities of Nepal and cook traditionally from the unique blends of fresh herbs and spices. At Gurkha Spice we use ingredients from across the Indian sub-continent to create our own traditional dishes, bursting with fresh and vibrant flavours, emphasising tasty and healthy cuisine, using cholesterol free cooking oil. No use of artificial food colouring, we only use spring lamb, maize fed breast chicken, home made cheese, fresh vegetables, home ground fragrant spices and aromatic herbs to achieve the ULTIMATE MEAL.
