Introduction
Groce Funeral Home & Cremation Service at Lake Julian is a funeral home that honors families and their unique backgrounds. With experience in the industry for over 90 years, the funeral planning team works to get to know each family and keep the charm of a family business. Mountain Xpress readers have voted Groce Funeral Home & Cremation Service as the best funeral home in Western North Carolina for five consecutive years. Their rich history includes the starting of the funeral home by the sons of Reverend T.A. Groce, who used to travel the mountains by horse and buggy back in 1929. The funeral home continues to honor its history by paying tribute to the time-honored traditions of families in the community.
Groce Funeral Home & Cremation Service at Lake Julian is happy to provide families with trusted funeral and cremation services. Funeral services can be customized with a list of available services and can be chosen as needed. For example, if you would like an open-casket service so that people can pay their final respects, you can choose to hold a viewing before the funeral. At the end of the funeral service, the family can gather at the gravesite for a burial ceremony. A direct cremation is an affordable option without all the fuss. You can pay for the cremation itself and plan to scatter the ashes in your own intimate ceremony. Or you can have a cremation followed by a memorial service.
If you are interested in more casual options, you can plan a life celebration program. Forget a strict dress code and allow people to dress as they like and gather in a laid-back atmosphere to watch a spotlight on the life of the deceased that was carefully crafted by the funeral planning team. A lovely program will consist of hobbies, sports teams, talents, videos and pictures of memories, and favorite music. Be sure to notify the funeral home of military honors or veteran services for which the deceased is eligible.
