Introduction
Grittz was established in 2001 as a restaurant offering high quality, great tasting food. The proprietor, Riccardo, was brought up in an Italian household were his love of food was taught and nurtured. From an early age he understood the importance of sitting down at the dinner table to enjoy a family meal. His passion for food and cooking came from his Father who encouraged him to open a restaurant of his own. Grittz was the outcome of this desire.
The ethos behind the establishment of Grittz is based on the importance of cooking well made, flavorsome food, as well as diversifying into new world cuisine. This is encouraged and driven by Head Chef, Alberto, who trained in Florence for 5 years and went on to work in numerous well established central London restaurants. The menu on offer is diverse and was designed by Riccardo and Alberto to ensure that all customers get the dining experience they want. This is achieved through offering an extensive menu and weekly special board.
The concept of Gritzz is built around the large open plan kitchen which aims to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, as well as allowing the customer to see their dishes being created. It is a restaurant that caters not only for families but is also perfect for a romantic meal for two, as well as being the ideal destination for any party or celebration.
In 2006 and 2007 Grittz was recognised as a finalist in the Customer Excellence Awards which is awarded by CEA. In 2008 this coveted award was finally won by the restaurant for its excellent quality of food and customer service.
The owner Riccardo and manager Fernando always look forward to greeting customers new and old, and enjoy being able to give the best possible dining experience on the high street.
