Introduction
FortisTCI Limited, a subsidiary of Fortis Inc., is the public electricity supplier throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands serving Providenciales, North Caicos, Middle Caicos, South Caicos, East Caicos and adjacent Cays. Turks and Caicos Utility Limited was acquired by FortisTCI in 2012 and is the public electricity supplier serving the Islands of Grand Turk and Salt Cay. Together, FortisTCI and TCU serve over 15,000 customers and have an aggregate diesel-fired generating capacity of approximately 90.7 megawatts, and 1.2MW of grid-tied rooftop distributed solar PV.
With an ASAI (Average System Availability Index) of 99.96% at the end of 2020, FortisTCI is one of the most reliable electricity providers in the Caribbean.
