Shruti Chahal BDS
Dentist
I am proud to live and work in Calgary. Being new to Calgary, I am thoroughly enjoying what this wonderful and vibrant city has to offer.
I was born and raised in India. I ran my own Dental Office over there for nine years before moving to Canada in 2012. Thereafter I cleared The Canadian Dental Licensing Exam to get fully certified to practice General Dentistry. I am a member in good standing of the Canadian Dental Association and Alberta Dental Association and College, International Association of Orthodontics, and American Academy of Clear Aligners.
I believe in lifelong learning and possess the qualification and skill in all aspects of General Dentistry. I have completed advanced training from the University of Alberta that allows me to offer facial rejuvenation with BToxin (neuromodulators) and from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver a course on Oral sedation and Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to treat anxious patients. I am currently taking courses in orthodontics (Braces) and Invisalign. I have gained advanced training in smile correction using DSD (Digital Smile Design) and BioClear systems. My latest courses trained me to help patients with facial pain and bite equilibration using T Scan technology
My professional philosophy has always been to treat my patients as I would treat my own family; to give them all their options for care, to help them decide what treatment option is best for them and then provide the best in care.

I am proud to be associated with the Foothills Dentistry team. Being relatively new to Calgary, I am enjoying what this wonderful city, it’s beautiful surroundings and friendly people have to offer.
I grew up in India and traveled a lot during my childhood, as my Dad was a military pilot. I got my first lessons in discipline, dedication and hard work at home itself. I had the opportunity of meeting new people and making new friends due to the transferable nature of my dad’s job. I graduated from High School with the Best Student Award. I topped the 1 st, 3rd and final year dentistry (BDS) exams and received The University Gold Medal on graduation in 1996. I did my specialization in Prosthodontics (MDS) from India in 2002.
After having worked for 15 years in India, I decided to move to Canada in 2012 to join the Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) program at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. At graduation, I was awarded the American College of Dentist’s award for Ethics and Professionalism, American College of Prosthodontists undergraduate achievement award and the Student mentor achievement award.
