Fabi and Rosi

Owners Wolfgang, from Germany, and Cassie, a native Austinite, met on a friend's yacht in Mallorca Spain, where Wolfgang was working as the Chef. After a visit to the U.S. to see Cassie, Wolfgang fell in love with Austin, and a year later they married. Wolfgang had been working towards his own restaurant since his apprenticeship years at the famous Burg Hornberg Castle, and on the first wedding anniversary, Fabi+Rosi opened [May 2009]. The name came from Wolfgang's nephew and niece that live in Baden-Baden, Fabio and Rosalie.

Fabi + Rosi serves classic European dishes with a young and modern twist. Sustainability and sourcing local, seasonal, all-natural/ organic provisions is top priority. The meat is from farms: Countryside, Richardson's, Loncitos and Strube Ranch. The organic green pasture eggs come from Vital Farms. The produce, from Johnson's Back Yard Garden, Farm to Table and Farmhouse Delivery. We compost and recycle as much as possible using an Ecological service for other disposal. There is a garden behind the restaurant with veggies, herbs, flowers and weeds. Our chickens [for eggs] are in the "Hühner Haus" where they happily eat the daily kitchen prep scraps. F+R stands in is a Craftsman bungalow built in 1903, the interior is both warm and inviting, modern and crisp, and was designed and installed by Cassie.
