Well, Japan opens its doors to foreign workers due to labor shortage. Up to about 350,000 blue-collar foreign laborers are expected to work in 14 sectors over the next five years. The nursing care sector, where the greatest need, aim to accept as many as 60,000. The Japanese immigration came up with 2 new visa types – Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) and Highly-skilled Worker; both requiring a company to sponsor the foreign worker and provide evidence that he or she has passed various certified trainings, including Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).
