In the early 1990’s Dr Ann Nevill had a dream of a Veterinary Clinic where different Natural Therapists (vets with an interest in a holistic approach to medicine) could work together to provide much more than Western medicine.
So in 1994 when the interest rates were 13.5%, when everyone told Ann she was mad, she started South Road Animal Health at 565 South Rd, a new Bentleigh Vet Clinic.
Bentleigh was chosen as it is a great place to live for people with animals.
Had she not taken on this new adventure Ann would probably not have continued as a vet as she was frustrated with relying on drugs to create suppression of disease.
The clinic has grown hugely over the years by word of mouth. It consists of three consulting rooms, a large surgery room with the latest equipment and a recovery area where the staff can watch the patients after surgery and comfort the patients. A large, recently renovated waiting area has now been completed for your convenience where a range of quality pet foods and medications, as well as our own frozen Natural diet foods are stocked.
In 2013 Dr Caz Kim joined the clinic to add her homeopathy and acupuncture skills.
Ann can say now that her dream has come true! She has had significant success and cured many difficult diseases in animals where owners have tried other vets and come to Ann as their last resort.
East West Vets is dedicated to an integration of Natural Therapy and Western Medicine. 80% of cases are treated with a combination of Eastern and Western medicine making the clinic the largest holistic Veterinary clinic in Australia that we know of.
We believe this integration of East and West and concentration on building health is a frontier in modern medicine. Helping owners understand disease and our approach empowers us all.
