Peter Pergola, owner of East Lake Café for about seven
years now, has made this breakfast bistro the East
Lake hot spot.

Pergola boasts over 25 years in the food service
industry, with a résumé that includes popular
Manhattan restaurants such as the now extinct Tavern on the
Green, the United Nations, Metropolitan Opera, the Museum of Natural History, to name a few. His experience and desire to provide the
East Lake area with excellent menu items has
helped the East Lake Café flourish since he took
ownership. Their dedication paid off when AOL
Cityguide awarded this local café with their �??Best
Breakfast in Palm Harbor�?� award.
Pergola feels that his success can be attributed
to his dedicated staff. Many have been with him since 2003.

Pergola also takes the time to be a figure in
the community. A frequent contributor to such
events such as East Lake High School�??s Flight
Night (an all-night after graduation party created
to encourage safe graduation partying), he strives
to give back and provide the community�??s youth
with valuable resources.
One of the East Lake Caf�?s best kept secrets
is its catering services. Accommodating your small
gathering of 25 or your 200 party guests, East Lake
Café will create a meal that is suitable for your
event and all in attendance. Pergola and his staff
utilized their culinary skills to help local schools
such as Carwise, where they have participated in
their dinner theater for the past four years. Serving
1200 people in two nights, this proved that their
ability to host large events is unmatched.
In an effort to make the Café the best it can
be, Pergola has teamed up with renowned pastry
chef Nomeda Baronas. Cakes by Nomeda specializes
in fi ne European cakes for special occasions.
All cakes will be baked on the premises and Nomeda�??s
experience spans over twenty years. Major
hotels such as the Don Cesar and the Vinoy are
familiar with her cakes. Hopefully soon, you will be able to experience some of her cakes anytime at the café.
A new addition to the café is Stefano�??s Italian Gelato-nothing like it, half the calories of ice cream and creamier!
Space is available at the East Lake Café for
private functions, and gift certificates are available
for purchase. Delivery is provided to local businesses
and schools, and take out orders can be
made. The East Lake Café is also now a wireless
hot spot. Bring your laptop, enjoy a waffle and a
