Introduction
Now part of Ed and Tom Martin’s gastropub stable (The Botanist, The White Swan etc), this imposing mock-Tudor mansion has been restyled in smart baronial style complete with mounted moose heads and antlers galore. Post a stylish refit, the pub still retains all of the traditional charm that secured its place in the London Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors with new ornate oak panelling, leather armchairs in cosy snugs and beautiful bay windows, exposed brick work, and decorative wrought ironwork.
On the food front, expect deftly executed, pleasing pub grub whose blue-collar reference is a pie of the day with mash and liquor. There are traditional roasts, steaks and suckling pig too, while more adventurous types might fancy pork belly, tripe and bean cassoulet with fennel jam or artichoke tortellini with roasted Jerusalem artichokes and sprout leaves followed by lemon verbena posset. Otherwise, enjoy cut-up bar bites, affordable fine wines and a cracking selection of craft beers from the likes of Pressure Drop, Weird Beard and Hardknott.
Acknowledging its history back in 1728 when the site operated as the Lewis Furnell Brewhouse until the mid 1800s - Ealing Park Tavern is bringing back the art of brewing. Brewing bitters and pale ales as well as special seasonal additions on site, the Ealing Park Tavern microbrewery will provide its wares direct to the bar with the pubs Brewmaster on hand for tastings, tutorials and beer and food matching dinners.
