Dhwani Sangeet Mahavidyalaya

Dhwani Sangeet Mahavidyalaya was established by Shri K.G. Sharma. It caters 700 to 900 students every year, and provides teachings on musical instruments, like; Keyboard, Guitar, Violin, Drum, Tabla, Harmonium, Electric Guitar, Sitar, Flute, on Vocal (Classcial, Western, Light Classical), on various Dance Forms like; Classical Dance (kathak, Bharatnatayam, Oddisi etc.), Folk Dance(Punjabi, Haryanvi, Maharashtriyan, Rajasthani etcc.) Western Dance (Free style, Contemporary, Bollywood, Salsa, Jazz, Hiphop, Zoomba etc.) including Aerobics.
The School came into existence in 1991 under the direction of Shri K. G. Sharma, a musician and a composer. Since 2000 onwards, the school has been headed by a succession of experienced Indian teachers with qualifications in Western Classical Music, notably Mr. Abhishek Sharma, who has been nurturing the School for more than a decade.
The School also functions as a centre for the examinations of 'Prayag Sangeet Samiti', Allahabad ; 'Pracheen Kala Kendra', Chandigarh as well as of 'Trinity College of Music', London. There is a growing emphasis not just on individual performance but also on ensemble playing, aural development and music appreciation. The staff and students of the School benefit from the workshops conducted by both visiting artists and other musicians.
