Introduction
My business is to help business leaders achieve better results faster and more reliably. My prime scope is strategy development and implementation, profit improvement and growth. These typically raise questions around changing values, processes and ways of working, organisation design, and governance. Control of the business requires stretching plans that are achieveable and realistic.
I bring a blend of 8 years as a P&L owner and 10 years as a senior consultant. Latterly I was a Senior Vice President of a mid-size engineering consultancy, where I was responsible for 10% of group turnover and 500+ colleagues. In this role I was Chairman of two subsidiaries: one in the UK and the other in Hong Kong. En route to this group role I was CEO of one of the subsidiaries. Prior to my 6 years with Systra, I was an Associate Partner in PwC Consulting and IBM Business Consulting.
I am a strong believer in enhancing internal capability: e.g. thus in strategy development facilitating the senior team. Some excellent business leaders are not natural strategists. Some high performing teams have members who do not really engage with ideas which they did not invent. There are techniques to draw everyone in to improve the choice and shorten the odds on success.
