Introduction
David Zecchini left Rome for America to become a restauranteur. In 1998, after years of success in the business in California, Zecchini chose downtown Saratoga Springs, NY as the home for his new restaurant, Chianti Il Ristorante.
Chianti was opened in the former site of a fast food restaurant, a building which had to be completely renovated and transformed into the intimate environment it became celebrated for.
The new space featured an open kitchen design and ornate, hand-wrought iron throughout. Guests could dine in the softly lit dining room and watch as dishes came and went from the bustling kitchen. A chic outside patio became a favorite spot for summer dining.
Within 10 years, Chianti had become one of the area's most celebrated and popular restaurants. Known for its superior service, warm and stylish interior, and fresh Italian food, Chianti soon grew out of its original location.
In 2008, Chianti had its grand reopening in a brand new building on Division St. David had his hand in every aspect of the design, from the open kitchen to the well-appointed dining room. Every detail was addressed, resulting in the engaging, dynamic atmosphere that is so unique to Chianti.
