Introduction
Caws Teifi Cheese (est 1982) is an artisan cheese handmade by John Savage - Onstwedder and his family on their farm near Llandysul, Ceredigion. Their cheeses have a rich, creamy texture and a wonderful depth of flavour as it is made from natural raw milk. they have won numerous national and international awards for their range of cheeses. Their Celtic Promise is a washed-rind cheese which is only one of two cheeses to have clinched the title of " Supreme Champion " twice at the British Cheese Awards in 1998 & 2005. In 2009 their Saval won the highest award in British artisan cheesemaking the " James Aldridge Memorial Throphy for the Best British Raw Milk Cheese " which was established in 2002 by Prince Charles in honour of the late raw milk cheese pioneer. Caws Teifi Cheese is also a five time winner of the " Dougal Campbell Memorial Trophy for the Best Welsh Cheese "
