Introduction
We are a family-run operation serving the greater Raleigh area since 2015. Tod Manning leads the Carolina Fresh Vending business with a customer-first approach. Tod's background in retail and consulting allows him to provide insights and guidance to his clients seeking vending solutions. Tod grew up in Denver, Colorado and earned a Master’s degree at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He currently resides in Raleigh, NC with his wife, Joanna and 4 children.
The rest of the family supports daily operations, including inventory management, vending machine fulfillment and customer service. The family’s passion for healthy eating and lifestyle habits started when trying to adopt to a new, healthier diet based on a doctor’s recommendation for one of the kids. After seeing nothing but sugar and artificial flavors in the local school vending machine, Tod began to research options. He quickly discovered the systemic junk food problem that permeated throughout our nation’s schools. He also found progressive communities addressing the issue with healthier food options. He learned more about the USDA’s Smart Snack program for schools and realized that healthy snack and drink options could be made available to students without sacrificing taste or satisfaction.
Carolina Fresh started with a few vending machines in a Raleigh-based local college and has now grown to 17 machines spread throughout the Raleigh and Durham areas. The locations range from schools to dance studios to hotels. The business has been in operation since 2015 and continue to support its happy and healthy customers.
