Introduction
Carissa Starr is a digital photographer and filmmaker. A filmmaking background bleeds into her photography to give her fashion, editorial and conceptual shoots a narrative, cinematic feel.
With an emphasis on storytelling, the conceptual and editorial genres suit her talents and interests. Carissa has an eye for the dramatic and leans toward strong imagery. Fantastical elements and the surreal appeal to her, as do the gritty and hyper realistic. The newer genres of Cosplay and Steampunk delight her whimsical side, but Carissa has a classical training as well.
Her experiences on both sides of the camera allow her to be an excellent director on set for actors or models new to the industry or experienced. She takes a collaborative approach and believes everyone has ideas worthy of sharing, and no idea is unwelcome no matter whose it is.
