Introduction
Café Chic is a 'one stop' concept comprises of two gastro-bistro restaurants, premium Whiskey Bar, Cocktail Lounge, Moroccan chill-out tent, Patisserie corner and exclusive Boutique.
After two years of renovations the Victorian heritage house has finally opened its doors to offer guests a cosy, elegant and unique experience. Each room has been designed to express a different feel and mood, catering for guests every whim.
Morae Campher, an events coordinator, and Francoise Queyroix, a restaurateur, decided to join forces and combine their South African/French backgrounds to create a unique concept never before seen in Cape Town.
The menus offer French cuisine with a South African twist.
Two chefs head up the Café Chic kitchen. Renald Epié is a French chef, trained in Micheling star restaurant and a master at skilfully merging classic French techniques with local ingredients to create complex yet subtle flavours, in a bistro like cuisine. Patisserie chef Jonathan Stanley draws upon his extensive experience in Europe to create the most delicate of pastries, tarts and cakes.
The Whisky Bar offers a selection of forty-seven whiskies to be savoured in a relaxing Hemingway inspired interior. Twenty-one private boxes are available to store personal bottles of whisky and cognac.
The Cocktail Lounge & Bar is a sexy, seductive setting perfect for socialites to enjoy one of Café Chic's signature and champagne cocktails mixed by the expert bartenders.
The Moroccan chill-out tent it a unique venue with a more intimate group of friends. Cocktails and tapas are served late into the night while guests laze back on lush velvet couches. The tent can be hired out for private functions.
All bars serve Tapas throughout the evening.
The Patisserie corner offers a selection of freshly baked breads, pastries, and tarts prepared daily and available for take away.
The Boutique offers an exclusive selection of men and women's clothing as well as a selection of jewellery imported from France and Italy.
