The problem of discolored and stained teeth can be treated with the help of professional bleaching. Our teeth are discolored with age, because of our food habits and smoking. Discolored teeth appear yellow, gray, brown, and in some cases, there might be dark spots also. There are two kinds of tooth stains, extrinsic and intrinsic. The stronger the solution is, the whiter the teeth are. If the percentage of peroxide is higher, it should be applied for a shorter time. Home bleaching treatment can take longer depending on the discoloration.
After bleaching, teeth can become insensitive for some time, or it may be difficult for people with sensitive teeth. Teeth whitening is useful for people with yellow or brown teeth. If the problem is deep rooted, for example in the case of grayish teeth, teeth whitening may not give desired results. In some cases, it is important to talk to the dentist before getting your teeth bleached.
