Who we are
We are part of the successful Bluebird Care network which has over 170 offices in the UK and Ireland and will be providing a full range of home care services from shopping and companionship to full personal care including live-in care to people in the Wakefield area.
We aim to provide a high quality, professional, friendly, personal home care service to all the people we care for. In addition to this, we are building good relationships with friends, relatives and other support agencies.
All our Care Workers are trained to the highest standards and take pride in providing care in the home and live-in care giving you the confidence to remain in your own home.
Providing a flexible service and the care you need in the home you love
Our aim is to ensure that all our customers maintain their independence and dignity by being able to remain in their own homes safely and holistically, be it regular care visits, live in care or respite care.
When any of us are faced with a situation that any additional care in the home is required, for either ourselves, a loved one or a friend, it is often thought that the stark choice is either to live self-sufficiently in our own surroundings or go into a home. Here at Bluebird Care (Wakefield) we offer a realistic alternative which allows people to stay at home, in familiar surroundings with friends and relatives around them. No upheaval, no stress and no trouble associated with having to move into a care home.
Our care workers can provide support and assistance which enable you to continue with simple pleasures such as a walk, going to the shops, or just spending time in the garden, but most importantly allowing you to live in the home you love. Care visits are tailored to your requirements and can be from 15 minutes upwards. There is no upper limit but, in reality, most of our care visits are something between 30 minutes and one hour long. We offer total flexibility and your care plan can be altered to your needs at any time. Some of the home care services we offer are:
Assistance with starting the day such as helping to get up, wash / shower / bath, get dressed and have breakfast
Going shopping, either taking our customer out with us or, alternatively, we can come in, agree a shopping list, go to the shops, come back and put it all away
Preparing food and drink.
Prompting medication when it is due.
Domestic tasks like cleaning, laundry ironing either on a regular basis or as a spring clean even if it is in the autumn!!
A respite service- where a member of the family is principal carer there may be need for relief to allow that person time for themselves, maybe a couple of times a week
Help with getting ready for bed at the end of the day
Care services through the night for those people who need them. This can either be on a ’sleeper night’ basis, where the care worker expects a reasonable night’s sleep but is on hand for emergencies, or a ‘waking night’ where the care worker is on duty throughout the night
This is only a selection of the things we can do. If you do not see something you would like, please ask.
Do you look after a relative or friend and want to plan a holiday?

Meet Our Team (1)
Narinder Gill
Director
Narinder has worked for over 2 decades in the educational field, successfully leading three schools as a head teacher.
In her latest headship of 8 years her commitment, relentless drive to improving life chances of all the children in her care resulted in raised standards, collaborative working and innovative partnerships.
Narinder has always felt passionate about making a difference to the community she serves and her growing interest in services for the older person, the personalisation agenda and the ways in which we need to further develop the voice of the older person has led her to leave working with the younger generation to develop a service for the older person.
I feel the principles that I will apply will be similar and I aim to provide a high quality, professional service that will meet the needs of the older person.
Being part of a national company (Bluebird Care), I will ensure that I localise the service I provide to meet the needs of the Wakefield Community.
My experiences have taught me that we need to work innovatively, and in partnership with all agencies to ensure we provide a quality service for our customers."
