My specialization lies in offering you high quality, custom designed courses to meet your needs. Many of my clients don’t have years to study; they only have a few weeks or 3 months to develop their skills under the umbrella of Speech, Acting and/or Personal Development.
I can help you achieve your goal!
I am a specialist in elocution and speech therapy. My speech therapy sessions can correct any speech impediment and/or help recover vocal communication abilities as in the case of stroke patients.
Whether you are a member of the general public who wants to improve their communication skills in the workplace and/or in general; an actor who needs to master an American accent for an international production in film, television and theatre industries; or simply want to achieve your personal goals in life...My courses are a valuable stepping stone for anyone who wishes to achieve their goals.
ACTING:
WHAT MAKES OUR ACTING COURSES SO DIFFERENT?
My main reason for devising these two courses is that I wanted to refine and highlight what actors today are utilizing most when acting, both for film, television and theatre. From all my years of study and working in the field I have found that with careful observation a pattern emerge and these are the skills which I focus on. This process has been feasible, because my students are being featured in local/overseas films, television soaps, and commercials; presenting on television and radio. I also offer onset coaching.
Two Courses on offer:
BASIC ACTING = 7lessons X 1.1/2 HRS P/W
ADVANCED ACTING = 11lessons X 1.1/2 HRS P/W
SPEECH
“Talking and eloquence are not the same: to speak; and to speak well are two things. There is all the difference when having something to say and HOW to say something the right way.†The various courses devised (below) help you focus on: developing your vocal quality (Elocution); correcting speech impediments; (diction, stuttering, mumbling, cleft palates, nasality, tone faults etc.); and reducing your accent. Learn an Accent or you can delve deeper into being a Radio Presenter; a Voice-Over artist; and/or Public Speaker; all the while still understanding HOW to communicate on all levels (corporate, radio, film, TV, theatre and everyday). The Transgender Voice Development, is a unique service in South Africa where I can train transgender’s who are in the transitioning phase (male – female).

ELOCUTION/ACCENT REDUCTION = 13 wks @ 1 hr p/w
VOICE OVER TRAINING = 13 wks @ 1 hr p/w
RADIO PRESENTING = 13 wks @ 1 hr p/w
PUBLIC SPEAKING = 13 wks @ 1 hr p/w
ACCENT TRAINING (AMERICAN, BRITISH, SOUTH AFRICAN) = 13 wks @ 1 hr p/w
TRANSGENDER VOICE DEVELOPMENT). (It is a one on one session where I mold your voice to establish a more feminine quality, by covering all areas of the voice. = 13 wks @ 1 hr p/w
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
We grow and develop on a daily basis, thus it is important to understand oneself. The courses in this section will help you develop your Communication Skills and help you focus on Self Awareness and Actualization. I also offer Counseling on various everyday issues: grief, trauma, loss, relationships, career, personal issues, fear etc. I also provide Pageant Training (Interviewing skills for Mr/Miss/Mrs SA, Western Cape, etc.)

Barbara Barbieri
Owner
Barbara Barbieri was born in Cape Town, with a dream of pursuing Musical Theatre. At the age of four, she took up ballet which would help her in establishing a career in show business, only to learn that there were no institutions in Cape Town which governed this passion. This was not going to stop her; she studied singing, everything from light music to opera which would help in giving her voice a flexible range. She then too discovered a love for acting – predominantly film acting. She literally became obsessed with this genre and spent her school years taking part in every type of production possible whether musical theatre or theatre. Naturally after school she went to City Varsity to study ‘Acting for the Camera’ with Aletta Bezuidenhoudt (South African Actress), Tony Perris (Warner Brothers Scholar and Director) and Gerard Rudolph (South African Actor), because this, she thought would bring her closer to her dream. However, she found that film; being only 100 years old and mostly being derived of the stories from existing plays, prompted her to want to learn more – also realizing that most big movie stars today had studied theatre first and then gravitated towards movies.
This led her to study at the Waterfront Theatre College, studying Theatrical Performance Drama and Teaching, under Ralph Lawson and Musical Theatre Performance and Teaching, under Barry Prince, in which she attained the highest level of Trinity of London Guildhall qualifications: L.T.C.L Performing and Teaching in Drama and Musical theatre; (4 qualifications in total) which in South Africa is equivalent to a B.A of Arts and Teaching in University. She found that by acquiring overseas qualifications this would benefit her work opportunities when working around the world.
She has worked at various establishments: Waterfront Theatre College, North link College, and Faces4Film Casting Agency in order to gain experience which would enhance her teaching and performing career, however, this opened her eyes to the lack of tuition regarding the performing arts and film and gave her the idea of taking everything she had studied and the experience she had acquired to develop courses which would enhance and cater for the most important aspects in performing arts today, regarding film and theatre. She has also worked extensively in correcting speech impediments and catering for the Trans gender community, an area in which she has had great success. This is how Biebie Productions was established.
