Meet Our Team (1)
Dr. Walker Ozar
Chiropractor
Walker Ozar, D.C. serves the Beverly Hills area and the surrounding communities. The seeds for Walker Ozar’s career were planted early on, as teenage athlete, growing up in Los Angeles. He played high school football and baseball—and sustained a few injuries along the way. Needless to say, he has always been very interested in working out, massage therapy, and nutrition. When Dr. Ozar turned to physical rehabilitation, acupuncture and chiropractic adjustment to assist in his recovery from a sports injury, he fell in love with all the healing modalities.
Ozar went on to study health and science at the University of Arizona, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts. His desire to combine physical therapy and chiropractic led to a focus on chiropractic rehabilitation and he went on to earn a professional degree from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. Upon starting his practice in 1996 at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, he continued formulating his philosophy of healing for a few more years.
Ozar soon realized that whenever he had been going through rehab (for various sports-related injuries), he always found himself driving from offices to gyms and other studios and back and forth again, and thought: "What if I could create a facility where everything could take place under one roof?" The rest is history.
Ozar founded the original Beverly Hills Posture & Rehabilitation Institute in 1999 (now known as: Beverly Hills Posture).
To date, Beverly Hills Posture has become a one-stop wellness center with team of treatment professionals who work together to diagnose, treat and enhance a patient's physical, medical and emotional health. Walker Ozar believes that it is necessary to treat the body as a whole, and thoroughly evaluate the nature and possible origin of a patient's symptoms. He believes that putting a band-aid on one part of a body and neglecting the less obvious problem areas does not always lead to a successful result.
While Dr. Ozar believes that spinal manipulation, as an alternative medical practice, is both restorative and less invasive than many medical procedures, he does not believe that is necessary for every patient. If and when manipulation is necessary, he consults the patient before treatment so that there are never any surprises. Ozar believes in manipulating the spine only when the muscles and joints are limber, thus all chiropractic treatments are preceded by at least 45 minutes of massage therapy and/or acupuncture to loosen the muscles.
Ozar’s goal, along with every member of the Beverly Hills Posture staff, is to help patients to reduce their pain, build muscle strength, and learn important maintenance exercises to support a continued state of well-being. Through a combination of chiropractic care, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage therapy, pre- and post-natal classes, personal training, yoga, Pilates and or GYROTONIC,® Dr. Ozar, along with his team of experts, designs individual health and wellness programs customized to each client’s specific needs. The end-goal or desired result, however, is to support each and every person (who walks into Beverly Hills Posture) to achieve a healthier, more fulfilling life as well as greater longevity.
