Introduction
The Americans with Disabilities Act was instituted in 1990 in an effort to end discrimination based upon differing capabilities. Drawing heavily from the site Civil Rights Act of 1964, which established defenses against discrimination based on race, religion, sex or nationwide origin, the ADA went an action further by requiring organizations to provide "reasonable holiday accommodations" to workers with handicaps.
