I am a semi-pro Artist Tutor who has also worked as a Community artist/Developer/Project Manager for Local Authorities, Schools, Community Centres and Volunteer Centres. I have an MA in Art History, BA(Hons) Humanities majoring in Studio Art 2:1, C&G(Ed) inc PTLLs and have undertaken art classes since graduating including at the BBAA (Art College), Mi, USA, in Life drawing, Collage, basic printmaking and Stained glass. I have delivered classes in drawing, pastels, bannermaking, and Family learning to both adults and children.
I lived in USA for 4 years and had my work exhibited at Ann Arbor Art Gallery. I have exhibited in groups but also several times as a solo artist in UK and USA and also sold works in Germany. Recently I opened my Garden studio as part of Dorset Arts weeks. I have gained various commissions from local authorities, Community centres and individuals. I used to be known in Wales (under maiden name Bowen) for Banner making but do not make Banners anymore (through choice). I prefer drawing, pastels, oils, and Collage. My work is representational but will sometimes have symbolic elements added.
I am a Mother and wife, walk my Dog daily and sing. I believe in the many benefits of art including it's therapeutic values to enhance wellbeing. There is room in the World for all types of art to co-exist together. Art is as individual as the people who make it . Hope you enjoy mine.
