Introduction
AMERICAN ALTERNATIVE COURT SERVICES
American Alternative Court Services (AACS Atlanta) is a certified and licensed agency that provides comprehensive services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system. From evaluations to treatment, we specialize in Holistic Alternative Sentencing – bottom line; our goal is to assist indivuals to get back on the track and avoid further consequences with the criminal justice system.
Court Approved Services
1. Evaluations – We conduct a variety of evaluations. Here is a list of court and state approved evaluations: Alcohol and Drug Evaluation, Anger Management Evaluation, DUI Evaluation, SAP for DOT Evaluation, Substance Abuse Assessment for Employment and all civil matters.
2. Classes -Treatment – Classes. The term classes and treatment are often used interchangeably. We currently offer classes with a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends. Here is a list of court and state approved Classes and Treatments: ASAM Level I, II, & III, Anger Management, Alcohol and Drug Awareness, Cognitive and Coping Skills, DUI
Classes,DUI School (Risk Reduction), MRT, and Shoplifting and Theft Prevention.
3. Education - Our agency has been awarded the clinical competency award from the Georgia Alcohol and Drug Board. We conduct on-going training, education, and CEUs. If you're interested in becoming a substance abuse counselor, please schedule and appointment to meet with one of our training officers

American Alternative Court Services, (AACS Atlanta) is a group of professional counselors, clinicians, doctors and psychotherapist who have spent the last 25-years changing lives through behavior modification and evidenced-based practice. Our success is based on our strong ties with the communities we serve throughout the state of Georgia. Lower recidivism and harm reduction is our primary goal. Recovery is a life-long commitment. Participants work on cognitive behavioral interventions and develop crucial life-skills with evidenced-based coping strategies and tools to avoid relapse in old behavior.

The process of cognitive and behavioral restructuring leads to the reframing of an individual ’s perspective. This by no means is an easy task, yet the chances of achieving long-term recovery from addiction are highly unlikely. Making cognitive restructuring a crucial component of the recovery process is essential for lasting success. First and foremost, in order to engage in this process fully, a certain level of desire and willingness to change are required. Without the willingness to engage in an honest introspection and continued self-assessment, long-term recovery may be impossible for some.
