Was a regular customer for over 10 years but no longer .

Ordered by phone just a small order of 3 items & they confirmed it would be ready for 7.30pm.

When I got there at 8.00pm, after taking cash for the order, they then said it would be 5 minutes.... over the next hour they kept saying it would be 5 minutes until finally 45 minutes later it was given to me. No apology or anything.

To top it off, have checked foods standard agency & this place only gets 1 out of 5 ! (major improvement required) as at Nov'12

Stop - do not order from here. Has gone downhill in a big way over the last few months.

I've been are regular here for over 10 years , eating in or using takeaway service. Recently the food has gone downhill with ever smaller sizes & terrible service. Its the lying I cannot stand. If you order a takeaway and they say it will be an hour for delivery or 20 minutes if you pick up, to save time if you drive there to pick up , you do not expect to wait an hour after the Time you were told !!! Also the staff kept on lying , saying it would be ready in 5 minutes when there was no truth to that at all.

Give them a miss & let them lose all their customers. The owner does not care so why should you give your hard earned money to them.

Really lovely restaurant! I went there 23/3/11 and loved the food! There was plenty of variety and lovely service! The decor was beautiful and there was a really friendly atmosphere; i would recommend it!

The food was amazing and the service was good. Not going to lie, but they have bad service in various occasion but I was told because they were understaffed. The food was amazing and I would recommend the restaurant.

I have recently eaten in the restaurant and also had take away and I would not recommend either. When we dined in, it was terrible from the very start when we had to ask to be moved as the table was dirty and we were treated as an inconvenience. All they do is turn round dirty table cloths. The food was nice but the service is dreadful and the staff are rude, really not a pleasant experience. Last week i thought I would give them one last try and ordered takeaway, again I can't fault the food but it took 1 hour 25 minutes to arrive and when I rang to see where it was after an hour I was shouted at and the phone was put down. I expected at least a free poppa dom as an apology but nothing; they have no idea about customer service and are just rude. Real shame as the food is great but there are pleanty of Indian restuarants in the area so theres no need to put up with this treatment.

Curry lovers try to avoid this restaurant at lunchtime, I am surprised that Mr KHAN has allowed this restaurant to go from good to poor, I attended Tuesday 9/1/2012and good points the young waiter was polite and attentive and the rice was good, I had seriously overcooked King prawn butterfly, told no naan bread (only evening) no chicken Madras so tried chicken Jalfrezzi so I got tikka lots of onions and raw chili's and was told this was how JALFREZZI was made in Akash

Curry lovers please think twice about going to akash at lunchtime, I have been dining there off and on since 1980 but very dissapointed last tuesday, first the good points, the young waiter was helpful and attentive and the rice was good, I tried butterfly King prawn which was dry and very overcooked and I was told no naan oven not on until evening, no chicken Madras on menu so I ordered chicken Jalfrezzi which was made up of chicken tikka reheated with a lot of onions and uncooked green chilis. Mr KHAN Please save what was once a very good restaurant

i loved the lamb chilly massala best i have had in years but one of the waitors is absoultly rude he said that our family were a digrace to earth but mr kahn is a very niece man and hopefully fires him

I have been a loyal customer for several years, visiting at least 20 times a year+. Today was the turning point. The food was poor, service was worse, the price was rediculous, I.E. £3.25 for a coke...When coming to pay i was overcharged, without an apology offered, and when going to leave i was told i had not paid when the so called waiter who took my money was standing next to the manager. I would not suggest going here as for the last few years it has gone downhill, last week when i was in there (yes twice in 2 weeks!) a lady at the front told the owner in no uncertain terms that her 20 years+ of visiting Akash was at an end, at the time i thought this was harsh but after the way i have been treated i am not surprised, i for one will never eat at Akash again, and i can see the 30 years of hard work going down the pan. Good ridance old friend!
