Agroktima Guesthouse

Deep in a fertile valley below the green foothills of Mount Parnon rests the small city of Leonidion, the capital of “Tsakonia” in the Peloponnese. This lovely town is cradled by the majestic red cliffs of the Arcadian Mountains to the North, and by the serene coastal waters of the Aegean Sea to the East.

Leonidion is characterised by historical monuments, mansions and towers built before 1800 and classic mid-19th century. The ancients referred to Leonidion (or “Agie Lidi”, the local name in the Tsakoniki dialect) as the “Garden of Dionysus”.

Within this bountiful “garden”, we have created our small community strictly following the local architecture, blending native stone, wood and cast iron to create a unique and welcoming setting. Our ten stone farmouses will become your refuge.

AGROKTIMA is a series of ten, independent stone guesthouses with slate-tile walkways guiding you to each entrance. Each unit includes a kitchenette with oak cabinets, fully equipped with dishes and cookware. There are brass fixtures in the bathrooms, air conditioning, a cast-iron fireplace decorated with wood and stone accents, plasma television sets, traditional light fixtures, wooden rafters and hand-carved furniture.
