These locations have so much to offer first time kayakers, novices or experienced paddlers.
Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary
The Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary is a "wetland of national significance" and one of Adelaide's "secret spots", an area of incredible beauty and ecological importance. The mangrove forests and sheltered creeks are home to a fascinating array of marine life, birds and of course the Port River Dolphins. The Ship's Graveyard with over 20 "wrecks" to explore is a unique feature of the area. All of these make for a sensational kayaking adventure.
Rapid Bay Sea Caves
This full day of adventure and begins at Rapid Bay about 100 Km south of Adelaide. Here the rugged coastline is spectacular with towering cliffs and crystal clear water, a great place for a sea kayaking adventure. We meet you at the beach and after instruction on safety, paddling and fitting of the gear we are off to visit isolated beaches and mysterious sea caves at a leisurely pace. You can also meet the "locals"; a growing colony of sea lions that are always keen to make new friends! We provide lunch which is enjoyed on a beautiful, isolated sandy beach, only accessible by small boat. Lunch is a gourmet, build your own "sub" including meat, chicken and fresh salads.
Dates for these tours are shown on the Rapid Bay page on our website. If you have a group we may be able to conduct a private tour just for you!
Coorong National Park.
This full day adventure explores the Coorong National Park located 100 kilometres south east of Adelaide near the township of Goolwa. The area has many wild and unfrequented places, ocean views, vast lakes and high sand dunes. This unique environment of international significance creates the ideal setting for a kayaking adventure. Adventure Kayaking SA will take you to this incredible area for a safe, fun and enjoyable experience for all ages and levels of experience. This is an ideal day for adventurous family or social groups.
The adventure includes a leisurely paced kayak journey to Godfrey's Landing, a National Park campsite and Interpretive Centre. Here we accompany you on a stroll along a boardwalk that crosses stunning sand dunes to the Great Southern Ocean and share some stories of the Coorong and its fragile ecology. After the kayaking and the dune walk we will have prepared a BBQ that will surely hit the spot!
