Introduction
AB&D uses a fully integrated CAD/CAM (computer aided design and machining) system to help drive all aspect of production. From design engineering to manufacturing, AB&D take’s the client’s napkin sketch and uses its CAD system to develop an interactive 3d model. At AB&D, we understand not all companies have CAD capabilities, but through Adobe we are able to convert our 3d models into interactive 3d pdf’s. With the 3d pdf, the client has the ability to manipulate the model to view construction, hardware, and material types. We have found that using this method, along with our detailed shop drawings, helps to drastically reduce lead times.
