Introduction
What is implant?
Implant is the process of treatment of putting an artificial tooth on a part where a natural tooth is lost, which has similar functions to the natural one, through additional procedures including bone graft or distraction osteogenesis.

Structure and roles of implant:
Abutment:
The crown and implant is connected by using abutment and screw.
Crown:
The crown, made artificially to be harmonized with inter-teeth, is covered to complete the upper part of the outer tooth.
Fixture:

Procedure of Implant:
Diagnosis
If a tooth has been lost, implant treatment can be considered.
First implant placement

Second implant placement

Prosthesis

It is treatment of fixing an artificial tooth by drilling teeth locating next to a tooth coming out and using it as a pillar. It drills the lost tooth and the natural teeth next to each other, and if it is used for a long time, the teeth drilled can easily be damaged and bone in gums can also be reduced.
Denture
Denture which can be taken in and out have two types, partial dentures locking and fixing a ring to teeth around where the dentures are to be placed, and (over-)dentures being fixed to gums when there is no tooth left. At the beginning of using the dentures, there could be feeling of irritation and a little of pain, so it takes time to adapt to it. It is usual for the dentures to be taken out while people having tough or solid food.
