Electrical portable appliance testing (PAT) The IET code of practice 4th edition followed to allow businesses to comply with the Health & safety at Work act. It is recommended that a PAT regime is in place for compliance. If records of PAT are not kept the H&S executive will investigate (at your cost) & will prosecute the duty holder should a death or injury result from faulty appliances.
