Creative Custom Furnishings was established in 1962 by Jack Stanley and his partner Ross Brushett combining skilled personnel from Jack Rawlinson's Furniture Co. and Tippets' finishing department. In order to provide the Toronto design community with a "one stop shop" for custom furniture services they established an upholstery department a few years later. When Denys Jones purchased Creative in 1988 he brought a new energy to the company moving the complete operation under one roof in order to increase efficiency and improve quality control within 18 months.
